It's because this distinct body design has been wrapped around a full restomod/hot rod with a custom body, comfy upgraded interior, a better suspension, four-on-the-floor, and a ton of big block power under the hood. Classic car fans should be intrigued by this Cranbrook. After all, Plymouth only offered the model for two years. It was initially meant to be a more traditional car back in '51, and that's what makes it a great base for a custom today. The alligator style hood, traditional roofline, two-piece windshield, and rounder rear fenders give it an instant nostalgia base. Of course, this one then gives it the full street machine treatment by lowering it, shaving the trim, laying down plenty of pinstriping in the right palaces, and adding extra-wide rear rubber for a speedy stance. The green paint is a great choice. It's a professional application that has plenty of gloss, but it avoids the kind of candy-coated style that would make this look a little too much like an overdone California cruiser. The bumpers, grille, bezels, and hood ornament are also done in a tasteful gray. The result is a car that looks like a custom street machine that also doesn't get too outrageous so that we can see the clean and unique design that makes this such an interesting classic. The interior is built for plenty of added comfort and driver appeal. It starts with late model seats that have been installed. This has the kind of padding and body-hugging design that couches didn't even have in the 1950s. Cup holders, full carpeting, tinted windows, armrests, and a modern AM/FM/CD stereo w/Bluetooth really give you a great cruiser feeling.
